Budo Society Constitution The U.S.A. Alliance International Budo Society is composed of only the most elite Martial Artist. Black Belts who have won state, regional, and national championships in Martial Arts Alliance tournaments are going to be considered for the award. The U.S.A. Alliance International Budo Award will become a national award presented to only the best Martial Artist from throughout the country. The first members of this new society will be inducted in 2009, and will be selected by the Alliance President and Vice President, based upon outstanding achievement, competitive spirit, knowledge, ability and true unselfishness of the art. Future Award members will interview with the Budo Society members. All U.S.A. Alliance season Point Champion Black Belts are eligible for acceptance, subject to the majority vote of the Budo Society Membership. There can be many individuals recommended or be eligible for admittance to the Budo Society, but it is possible that one or none could be admitted into the U.S.A. Alliance International Budo Society. A potential candidate may have won many National Point Championships for several years before finally being accepted. Candidates for the Award are examined yearly at the U.S.A. Martial Arts Alliance Points Champions banquet and are subject to a background examination and verbal hearing before the entire membership of the Society. Applicants are considered without regard to race, creed, color, sex or specific martial arts style. Budo Society members are equal, regardless of rank, longevity or position, making the best examples of the humanity of the art. The Budo Society members must be past or current National Point Champions, and with a heavy emphasis put on the divisional fighting champions. The U.S.A. Alliance International Budo Society is the men and the women who are and have been the most spirited competitors and fighters. These are some of the best who have ever put on a martial arts uniform. They have set the standards for most of what we experience today at our martial arts tournaments. These will be the men and the women that lead our U.S.A. Alliance International Budo Society into the future and accept responsibility for the future of the martial arts that they practice. U.S.A. Alliance International Budo Society qualifications: 1. Candidates must be Black Belts. 2. Black Belts must be 18 years old or over 18 years old. 3. Candidates must be members of U. S. A. Martial Arts Alliance. Either, Lifetime members or yearly members. 4. Candidates must qualify by Automatic nomination. This is achieved by winning one or more of the following U.S.A. Alliance National Points Championships: Black Belt Kumite (Fighting) men / women Black Belt Kata (Forms) men / women Black Belt Kobudo (Weapons) men / women (Automatic Nomination) After winning your division for the National Points Champion, you may be considered for a recommendation. You will then be notified if you are being considered for the award. To be eligible for acceptance and an interview, the candidates should send resumes' that must be received by the U.S.A. Martial Arts Alliance President a month prior to the National Points banquet. Your resumes should consist of your Martial Arts background and accomplishments. This resumes’ will be copied and copies will be made for the Budo Society selection meeting at the National Champion’s banquet. Because of the distinctiveness of the award, it is understood that the U.S.A. Alliance International Budo Society will consider many and honor few. Candidates should be made aware that it is an honor just to be considered. If an individual is not admitted after the process of selection, their attitude and reactions during the process will weigh heavily on future nominations. It is not the intention of the International Budo Society to create disappointment, but to keep the highest standards of the U.S.A. Alliance International Budo Society.
