WELCOME TO THE USA MARTIAL ARTS HALL OF FAME
The U.S.A. Martial Arts Hall of Fame was originally designed in the mid 1970’s as a service to Karate practitioners with the U.S.K.A. under co-creators Grand Master Robert Trias and Jim Thomas. During this period, there were no other ‘Hall of Fame’ types anywhere except the well-known Black Belt magazine's Black Belt Hall of Fame. After the passing of Grand Master Trias, student & co-creator Dr. Jim Thomas of the U.S.A. Martial Arts Hall of Fame decided to take this Hall of Fame to another level. In 1992, the all-new U.S.A. Martial Arts Hall of Fame began. "Hall's of Fame" are almost out of reach to most…unless of course you are a ‘Big Name’. However, you do not have to be a big name or in the movies to be good or admired! Most people don’t realize what the awesome
responsibilities are of the instructor…a parent role, big brother/sister, counselor…they have to put on happy faces even when they are ill or under stress. Some work crazy hours or 2, 3 or even 4 jobs. It can cost financial distress, including second mortgages. Even some marriages and family difficulties. People have no clue how much instructors sacrifice!! We do at the U.S.A. Martial Arts Hall of Fame!! This project was started many decades ago. In its original creation it was the 'Karate' Hall of Fame. In 1992, Dr. Jim Thomas took over the entire project. Hence, now...the U.S.A. Martial Arts Hall of Fame. By being part of the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame you're an Official 'Alumni'. We need our Alumni, we always invite our Alumni back...new awards (different categories). Keep our project 'alive'! You are our history! Some Alumni date back as early as 1976. Almost 30 years! We currently are working on putting pictures up of all past years members and brief bios about each one. This is a lengthy project meanwhile stay tuned to our site! We attempt to visit all areas of the country. We have and will continue to serve instructors and those where credit is due! Obviously, the highlight of any of our functions is when the "old timers", our pioneers, show up! They all attend when possible and each event creates most memorable moments! The big hit are those who've put in decades of service! The arts delight in knowing some of these men & women have never been in a movie! Some have. But the superstars as we know on the big screen come from somewhere....hence our pioneers! Our legacy continues. Our functions: we visit various areas, both as our functions and gatherings of all stars! Here's an Alumni Gathering, in 2004 , Grand Cayman, Cazamel and a 5 Day Alumni Cruise we took. Hundreds of Alumni took part in our 2nd Annual Cruise! For all future "Hall of Famers" you're getting yourself involved with a great group! All Styles/All Systems! Great men and women.
